The gallery and bistro are open Wednesday through Saturday from 5pm - until. However, should you wish to make a special visit to the gallery at another time, arrangements can be made. The gallery space is also available for special events, meetings, small dinners, and wine tastings. Art @ Top Hat is a special place, and it is the perfect location for your event.Who We Are
Bent and Hanne Rasmussen are the original owners of the restaurant. They have spent over 30 years concentrating on serving the best food and providing excellent service, in order to make a visit to the Top Hat special.
Bent, a classical, European educated chef, has traveled and worked in many different places; including Italy and Hollywood. In St. Croix, he started as head chef at a luxury resort, The Buccaneer. Eventually, Bent and Hanne opened their first restaurant, The Mahogany Inn.
In 1969, they bought the historical townhouse that has become the Top Hat. Bent and Hanne ran the restaurant until 2004, when they decided to retire.
Bent is an excellent photographer. He has exhibited and sold much of his work on St. Croix. Primarily, portraits are his passion. But Bent's first love will always be cooking. And to the delight of many people, he and Hanne are now back at the Top Hat.
